Banking Kiosk Market
The banking kiosk market can be divided
into two main categories.
1. Kiosks as mini or virtual
banks
Kiosks are used in banking centers for a
variety of services such as check cashing,
deposits, statement generation, customer
identification, money orders and check book
orders among many other possible services.
2. Kiosks as teller support
and assistance
Kiosks that support the teller to assist
part of the transaction process e.g., biometric
identification, check scanning, deposit
summary, form fulfillment and bill scanning.

The banking kiosk market includes credit
unions, banks, large retail stores, credit
card companies and others who either provide
or wish to provide complementary banking
services.
Batch Processing
Processing of accumulated data over a period
of time by means of the technique of executing
a set of programs so that each is completed
before the next program of the set is started.
Bill Breakage
Breaking bills of larger denominations into
smaller change. Kiosks offering this usually
have bill dispensing or bill recycling units
attached. Gaming Kiosks offering bill breakage
also have Ticketin Ticket-out devices for
encashing tickets.
Billpay Kiosks
Simply a kiosk that accepts bill payments
for 1 or more biller using a variety of
payment instruments such as cash, checks,
credit cards and debit cards.
Biometric
Refers to biometric authentication in our
industry. It refers to technology that measure
and analyze human physical and or perhaps
behavioral characteristics for authentication
purposes. Eg., fingerprints, eye retinas,
irises and photos while examples of mostly
behavioral characteristics include signature,
gait and typing patterns.
Break-even Analysis
analysis of the level of sales at which
a project would just break even.
