In the self-service automation space, the ‘Turn-Key’ concept is a buzzword. Understandably, customers are drawn to the idea that a self-service system/network can be set-up and run with minimal expenditure of time and effort. When they do this they quickly realize that there are numerous hidden costs that aren’t discussed. There are industry examples of companies that
spent 10s of millions of dollars and never achieved profitability. They either faded away or were acquired before true profitability could be tested.

Rule 4
Understand Turnkey before you embrace it. True turnkey means that you should be able to launch your self-service channel on any hardware with any service and with any workflow in several days. Everything else is Cold Turkey.
