Glu-On® is Infonox’s meta device operating system that brings
life to touchpoints. Glu-On®
interfaces with two other Infonox building
blocks to provide complete financial service solutions.
Infonox’s propreitary middleware makes devices
smart i.e., interact intelligently with customers.
Glu-On® is designed to run
on Windows, Linux and embedded OS. Glu-On® provides
an XML interface that enables access from inside or outside
a web browser.
Glu-On® not only works with the
more traditional XFS standard and JXFS which is the global
standard for interfacing with the peripheral devices typically
found in self-service terminals (like ATMs and bank branches)
for the financial industry (XFS libraries are an open standard
for developing hardware independent applications). In addition,
Glu-On® supports other standards – contact Infonox for
more details.
An advanced feature of Glu-On® is
device control and management. Glu-On®
device support consists of a suite of controls that access
the hardware using XFS or a variety of libraries including
native. An outcome of this flexibility is that applications
written with Glu-On® are portable
between ATMs from various vendors without the need to rewrite
them.
In addition to the device support, Glu-On®
also provides a suite of "self-service" components
that are implemented as events. These higher-level application
components use Glu-On® proprietary
software, allowing meta application logic.
These controls provide a range of features such as tracing
and watchdog services to make it easier to develop new ATM
/ kiosk applications. For one, Glu-On®
acts as a conduit for autonomic healing. It has self-healing
rules and actions that contribute to higher robustness of
the self-service application. Apart from healing, Glu-On®
technical components include 'store and forward' functionality
that ensures that event data is not lost in the event of any
interruptions in data porting. Glu-On®
also incorporates detailed journals and logs of each event
at the device level.
