MonitorNox remotely manages and heals devices and
is ideally suited for creating highly available self-service
systems.
Without careful management, most enterprise monitoring systems
tend to become less efficient. Monitoring a network that includes
a diverse set of devices such as ATMs, POS, thin-clients and
their backend infrastructures often requires extensive, costly
and time-consuming development and customization. This does
not include subsequent maintenance and upgrade costs. The
cost structures for operating large networks of financial
service devices can become prohibitive.
The MonitorNox approach is based on the best practices gained
from Infonox’s experience of running highly available,
networked front-ends. The main guidelines behind MonitorNox
design are as follows:
Monitor systems not components - Monitoring
a single device or single type of device is no longer sufficient.
The entire infrastructure is monitored in a streamlined fashion
and actionable information is readily available. MonitorNox
incorporates data from the network, database and devices.
Monitor from anywhere - Monitoring is a collaborative
process and to be carried out at optimum efficiency, the interface
is browser-based and accessible from any location of the world
over a secure Internet connection.
Healing capabilities – MonitorNox
can be used to remotely re-boot and re-configure devices.
Monitoring components - Monitoring is carried
out in layers. At the very highest level the state “On”
and “Off” matters. But at every level below, there
are a number of actions that occur to cause the high-level
failures. The MonitorNox monitoring system is constantly active
at the low-levels, before events can cascade into failures.
Low level monitoring includes a way to heal and recycle the
system before more serious issues occur.
MonitorNox Implementation
24-7 monitoring of 1000 + transaction endpoints,
including advanced function ATM’s, Kiosks, and Virtual
Terminals - In contrast to standard ATMs, advanced-function
ATMs process multiple transaction types in addition to regular
ATM transactions and support twice the number of peripherals
normally managed.
Global Collaboration – Monitoring
and support teams are distributed among three locations across
the globe. The teams coordinate over IP and share reports
and data in MonitorNox.
Manage SLA’s – MonitorNox gives
instant, real-time access to channel partners who want to
see the status of open issues, complaints and downtimes. Banks
and other financial institutions get their own interface,
tailored for their needs. All issues are logged and reported.
| Features |
| Enterprise Console –
A brightly color-coded grid pattern that refreshes
in real-time. “Hot” zones are instantly visualized. |
| See as much or as little
of your entire infrastructure – Businesses
can view their infrastructure in any permutation. For
example, only databases, only routers, only open tickets,
only ATM’s, only POS with receipt printer low, or
a combination of elements. MonitorNox includes configurable
alerts. Businesses can receive alerts through email, on
pagers, over WAP-enabled devices, and in any other format
of choice |
| Any device, any peripheral
model – From PDAs to ATMs and from biometric
cameras to MICR printers – monitor any device that
is connected to your network. |
| Sophisticated charting and
graphing – Create charts on the fly, or
watch a chart build on your screen as you start monitoring
a particular problem zone. The charting engine is fast
and can run on a dialup connection. |
| Polling and Events –
Conduct SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) walks
of your devices or use event servers to respond to changing
conditions. Since polling too frequently can clog your
network, an optimal balance between polling and event
driving is maintained. |
| Easy integration - Interfaces
for dispatch companies operated by ATM vendors and service
organizations. |
| Telephony aware – Easy
plug-in for any PBX and ACD system. Using Cisco AAVID
platform, MonitorNox is telecom aware and users can call-in
and access status of devices in spoken language. |
| Call Center and Ticketing
System integration – Open tickets manually,
track tickets over the web. Generate extensive reports
on availability statistics. |
| Universal Access –
Convenience to define access for customers, partners,
vendors. Users can access a status view relevant to role. |
| Profitability in real-time
– Pinpoint your most profitable nodes and
end-points. Carry out relative analysis and create “Profit
and Loss” reports and graphs for your transaction
systems. |
| Benefits |
| ATM & Networking Monitoring
- MonitorNox allows your IT staff to monitor
your entire network on one screen in real-time. The interface
incorporates easy navigation with a clearly defined color-coding
scheme, so your staff can instantly determine the health
of every machine, at a glance. The system monitors ATMs,
devices, routers, servers, and databases and has the capability
to automatically generate tickets. |
| Multiple peripheral support
- MonitorNox supports peripherals such as check
readers, cash acceptors, biometric devices, ID scanners,
telephones, and media delivery systems. Interfaces to
third-party systems are possible for peripherals used
in traditional ATM transactions as well as in more complex
transactions, such as check cashing. |
| Monitor systems not components
– Instead of several loosely connected
support products, MonitorNox is all you need to accomplish
the highest level of availability and integration. |
| Monitor from anywhere –
Secure web access, anywhere. |
| Healing capabilities –
A constantly growing set of tools and libraries for repairing
nodes and systems in production, without downtime. |
| Preventable monitoring –
Exhaustive monitoring, at all levels within an application. |
